The Total Cost of Living on Your Own
So it is finally time to move out of your parent’s house and become an adult. This may sound like great news, getting your own place, doing whatever you want, no rules. But the cost of this fine living is a bit harsh. Paying for your own things is not an easy task, and definitely not fun. So to help ease the stress, we have put together the average cost of living on your own, just so you know what you’re in for.
Apartment - $600
Utilities (gas, electricity, water) - $150
Food - $250
Transportation (gas, car payment)- $200
Insurance - $100
Entertainment - $200
Savings - $200
That gives us a grand total of $1700! Now this example isn’t exactly how much everything is, it all depends on where and how you live. If you are going to live with a roommate, add a little more to the apartment rent, utilities, and food, and then cut it all in half. Living on your own can be fun, just make sure you’re up for the challenge!
