Creating Good Study Habits
Creating good study habits is the key to doing well in school. The majority of your grade is based on your test or exam scores, so it is extremely important to make sure you know your stuff. It would be a complete waste to work hard and then not study and fail a test. That is why I have come up with some simple but very easy study habits that will help you score an A.
Every day as soon as you get home from school do your homework immediately. What you learned that day is still fresh on your mind and you are less likely to forget about it. Doing your homework is essential because most teachers will take questions off of your homework assignments and put them on the test. And if you’ve done it once, you are more likely to remember it the second time!
Flash cards are an easy and fun way to study. You can test yourself to see if you really know what you are studying for. This way, you can study by yourself and you don’t have to have a partner to ask you questions. Flash cards are also fast and simple to make.
Every night before you go to bed, study for at least 30 minutes. If you have a test in one week, and you study every night that equals up to 3 and a half hours of studying! And let’s face it; there is no way you would sit for almost 4 hours just studying. Doing this helps you out in the long run and keeps you from procrastinating!
These are just a couple good study habits to keep in mind while studying for a test or exam. You want to do well, so here is your chance. Making good grades builds your confidence, self esteem, and makes you smarter! So pay attention, study hard, and school will be a piece of cake!
