Volunteering for a better Community
Some people might think that volunteering is just a waste of time. Working but not getting paid, what’s the point right? People who think this are completely wrong, and obviously have never volunteered before. Volunteering not only makes you feel good that you helped someone else but also makes others that you help have a better life.
Don’t listen to anyone that says volunteering is boring. Volunteering is not like going to work. To most people, going to their job is like a chore, something they have to do every day. But volunteering is not a chore, and not something you have to do. There isn’t the stress of if you mess up, you’ll get fired. You can still goof off and you don’t have to be professional, which makes volunteering a blast.
If no one ever volunteered, what would this world be? What would our community look like if no one ever picked up some trash on the side of the road, visited the elderly, or took toys to less fortunate children on Christmas? Volunteering makes better people, and better people create a better community.
Anyone can come volunteer with our FCU Team. All of our volunteering events are posted with dates, times, and locations. For more information to join our FCU team, you can contact Richard Arocho at 713-844-1117 or email him at Richard.arocho@shellfcu.org.
