Domino Affection Winner!
Congratulations to Nancy Ojeda for winning our Domino Affection contest! Domino Affection was a new community outreach contest encouraging others to start a change reaction. All you had to do was answer one question – How would you help one person with $5 now?
The contest received 8 written submissions and 94 video submissions over the 27 days that entries were accepted. Voting lasted for two weeks and 411 votes were received. Nancy Ojeda’s written submission received the most votes. Below is what she wrote:
“By donating just $5.00, I in essence, with the grace of God can help saved five lives. You see, for just $1.00, one person can be provided with PUR water packets for an entire year. When mixed with polluted water and shaken, they can provide a person living without the benefits of clean water with lifesaving clean water for one entire year. Hence, $5.00 can save five lives! How will this create a domino effect? You just never know what may come out of those lives! We could have a Nobel Peace Prize winner who is capable of saving lives and bringing peace, or making amazing discoveries for mankind in there! Please help me help others less fortunate and dying daily because of the absence of something we take for granted, clean water!”
For her winning idea, Nancy won $500 for herself and $500 to give to a charity, which she chose the Bridge in Pasadena, TX.
